Seven new COVID-19 cases reported on Big Island

Seven new cases of COVID-19 have been reported today on the Big Island, according to Hawaii County Civil Defense.

Of those, one was reported to be travel-related, Civil Defense said.

Two individuals are hospitalized and the total number of COVID-related deaths reported on the Big Island remains at 49.

As of today, Hawaii County had a test positivity rate of 1%, according to data from the the state Department of Health.

Statewide, 81 new cases and a test positivity rate of 1.7% were reported today by the DOH.
